Loved the recap! Shallowly, I very much appreciated the beautiful face shots. I actually liked the episode but now it's canon that we are supposed to think that the whole Sam/Amelia storyline is an evil joke, right (and no, I don't mean a long hallucination)? There can be no other reason for this much Sam storyline set in the literal anvil-joke-world episode. Just imagine for a minute Dean's Purgatory storyline culminating during this episode, how cheap it would seem. The SPN writer's team is literally telling me not to take Sam's story seriously, and I dislike them all a little for that.
I am invariably laughing too hard to say anything even remotely substantive or intelligent after reading your recap. It is glorious, and magically relieves any lingering anvil-induced headaches. Keep 'em comin' :)
I think I've tried to disconnect myself a bit so I can watch without feeling rage or disappointment haha, but it seems to be allowing apathy and boredom to creep in. Oh well--NO BIG!
But, yeah, I think people want Sam's storyline to be more than it is, and I'm sure there is some kind of reveal, but I really think this is just the story that Carver decided to tell, and he thought people would just go along with it.
