People who read my recaps know that Sam Winchester's Glorious Haircape has been my arch-nemesis for years (two words: DOOM CHOPS). However, I must be verging into some sort of Stockholm Syndrome at this point because I have been enjoying the sheer luxuriousness of it all season.

Then stir_of_echoes made this epic tribute post and I said I was going to icon the whole thing. Which I did. Enjoy!

I do have some love for the Sam 'locks. :)

Yet I also feel the need to point out that Sam's chops never took the crown of most awesome sci-fi sideburns ever. Long was Mr. Spock the holder of this title, but really. Blair Sandburg's season 3 'burns have yet to be defeated. Also - his hair was awesome enough that fandom legend says that a fan asked for hair cutting warnings to be put on fics so she could steer clear of them. (His lips could give Deano's a run for their money, and he had Castiel's baby blue too!) Oh well, Sam does have like, nine inches on him in height.

(Although, it should be noted that poor Garett Maggart couldn't fight his genetic fate and started going bald. Poor guy's last role (that I know of) was for CSI Miami where they photoshopped the hell out of him to make him fatter, older and added liver spots.)

And the fact that he returned Elvis'/Wolverine's mutton chops so they don't distract from the beauty of his face might have helped you. That he is allowed a 5 o'clock-shadow by now and they seem to have stopped trying to control his hair (so that it looks more like Jared!hair now) is also adding to the extra-handsome-this-season-effect
