So long 2013, you bitch

I am ready to say good riddance to 2013 and hellooooooo to 2014! Anyone else joining me on this one?





I had a bit of a fannish downturn this year, which is disappointing but a little inevitable. I said goodbye to my Home Planet recaps, which I had done weekly since S5 and were hard to give up. Of course, I'm a masochist and can't give up either the show, or doing icons/reactions to the episodes (albeit much, much less time-consuming ones lol).

As for fic-writing, AO3's helpful statistics tells me that my word count for the year is all the way down to 77,792, which is about half of what I produced for each of the last two years. Terrible, right?? Of course, the quantity of fics I've been writing hasn't dropped much, it's just that they are usually of the short and snappy variety. This is probably because I only posted work in two longfic challenges this year, my clonefic The Sake of Momentum for spn_j2_bigbang and my teen superhero fic Everybody Wants to Rule the World for j2_everafter.

There are some fics that I'm especially proud of this year, from my J2 angst-fest The Right Angle to Sam/Jo rarepair fic Handprint on the Driver's Side to my John Winchester character study As Numb As I've Become.

Plus a whole lotta J2 schmoop and angst and porn and fairies and mobsters and cracky possible serial killers and even President Collins because of obvious reasons.

And possibly my last Sam/Dean fic? Hmmm, maybe the Epic Love Story will lure me back one of these days....

Here's to my upcoming projects, including my very exciting project with littlepistols for spn_reversebang (POSTING JANUARY 20th!), plus some fandomaid fics and hopefully something fun and/or funny for spn_j2_bigbang.

How have you guys felt about fandom this year? Anything you are most proud of? Any plans for the next year?
