This is such an incredibly portrait of John. So many layers to discover, so many paths he took.
Every single scene is so precious. But the image of John waking up with empty arms instead of going all the way to Jim to hold his sons almost made me cry. And the reason why he tells "no" to Alastair in hell is such a perfect bit of characterisation.
