Was that the fakest amputated limb in the history of fake amputated limbs? I know SPN is on a shoestring budget, but seriously?
I couldn't even keep up with the affronts to canon in this ep. My head was spinning as Bucker and Ross-Leming's would have if they hadn't had them securely up their asses -- and yes! they were the writers of Redneck Rd 666. Notice that they didn't write for SPN again until Kripke bowed out? Think nepotism has anything to do with these two hacks being back (Robert Singer, I'm glaring at you.) I knew this ep was crap but after reading you review, I am befuddled, bewildered ... just I can't even find words ... parallel universe? Is that going to be Carver's big "twist" in 8.23?
There is a big twist coming in 8.23? I vote for Sam isn't actually Sam but is a Sam!clone slowly becoming Sam!like through the power of fluffy hair and brother love!
Also: Dean is still in Purgatory and the death of canon is his torture.
They have written FOUR episodes this season while Edlund and even Glass (as shitty as he is) have only written three. You can't tell me that was not all Bob Singer.
In fact, part of me wonders how much Carver has to do with any of this anyway. I've always thought that Gamble got pushed out mid-S7 and that Singer was the silent puppetmaster for what a mess the back half became. Going by Singer's interviews, his views on the brothers seem completely reductive, and that fits with this one-note characterization going on this season.
I know! Four eps! It just amazes me that it takes two people to write that drivel. Singer has to be responsible.
I hadn't thought about Singer pushing Gamble out, (although it wouldn't surprise me), but I've been thinking recently that I might have been blaming the wrong guy with my:"fuck you carver" Tumblr tag. Carver may just be following Singer's directions. I've never known Singer to give interviews and be so outspoken in previous seasons, have you?
I don't even know what Carver is doing, frankly. We'll see how bad the finale is and if he manages to kill off all the remaining women and minorities lol
