In other news, today was my baby niece's FIRST BIRTHDAY. I can't believe it's been a year since she came into my life, but she's a ginger-haired joy every day. I spent today chasing her around in her new baby convertible, wiping mango cream cake off her nose, and trying not to be creeped out by the magnificent Demon Elmo Doll. My brother-in-law tried to suffocate it with a pillow to shut it up and it just hugged the pillow and giggled. BEST DAY.

Oh and matching Elmo tattoos--everyone got one!

Overall--great day!

So, in theory, if I had a longer piece that I didn't want to write/post all at once, would you guys follow along and read if I decided to post it as a WIP? I've never done one, but I think I have something in my brain.

Happy Monday, flist! Hope you all had a great weekend. I watched the last 30 minutes of Breaking Bad last night, even though I have never actually watched the series lol. Either way, it was somehow very satisfying, so kudos to the non-Carver-esque showrunner

peepingdru, who so generously purchased my services in the Hurricane Sandy auction. All she asked for was "crack & porn" and you guys know what happens when people give me free rein over those two things lol.

I have written almost 10,000 words in the last 3 days, so I think this new idea for

spn_j2_bigbang might actually happen after all! \o/

So, with two weeks to go until drafts are due for

spn_j2_bigbang, I have decided to completely change my story. The one that I've been meaning to write forever (the funny, vaguely cracky one) started losing the funny when I tried to stretch it to 20K words. I'll definitely write it one day, because I love it, but it's begging to be a jaunty 10K farce instead, and I'm giving in.

However, I do have a completely different idea and it's all outlined and planned out as of this weekend. If I can finish it in the next two weeks, then I think it could be really cool and I hope you guys read it! :P

Hello, flist! I'm back from my trip to Jamaica with

fiercelynormal (i.e. I went from 85 degree weather to 35 degree weather--wah-waaaaah). We had an amazing time at a beautiful resort, with lots of delicious food, enough rum to kill a pirate, and sunburns that look like this:

LOL white people indeed!

We also planned out our Bigbangs (go us!) and watched a 9-episode marathon of Duck Dynasty (Best.Show.On.TV.) while lounging in our bath robes and drinking out of the minibar. We are nothing if not classy.

Now I'm back, and after a brief scare when my work decided to block livejournal for some reason (*silent scream*), I'm back with a bunch of new J2 Vegascon icons from the gorgeous batch of

Happy Friday, flist! Hope you guys are well. I'm feeling a bit better (finally), although the cough is still lingering. I have to get better soon because

fiercelynormal and I have decided to head to Jamaica next week for her birthday weekend! Booze and beach and BigBang planning, oh my!

With that date in mind, and because I have a few weeks off from my recaps, I'm planning on posting one fic a day next week until we leave. Hopefully that will make up for how MIA I have been!

This is an update post to talk about exciting stuff that has happened on this lovely Friday. We are not going to include the fact that I officially have bronchitis and am still dying.
